With the NHL Restart happening in just two hub cities, we’ve seen a whole new kind of fandom. Obviously, fans aren’t actually in the stands, but they’re finding innovative ways to support their squad from afar.
We’ve seen billboards pop up in various capacities, but a group of New York Islanders fans that contributed to a hilarious GoFundMe campaign afforded a whole new level of support.
Literally.
The goal of the campaign was to send a plane flying around Toronto with a banner in tow. The banner, much to the chagrin of Toronto Maple Leafs fans, read “Let’s Go Islanders!!!!” on it.
ADAPT. IMPROVISE. OVERCOME.
We’re sure the Isles appreciate the support, even if it is being shown from the other side of an International border.
