In his role as global ambassador for the team, Drake has had a high level of involvement with the Toronto Raptors. When people think about the Raptors, they think about Drake, too, and that has become a big part of the Raptors’ overall branding.
Even still, it looks like the rapper wants to step his role up with the team. Is an ownership stake with the Raptors in Drake’s future?
Let’s probably consider this an expression of interest, more than any substantial news. Still, though, for Raptors fans, Drake fans, and especially fans of both, it’s pretty cool to imagine the artist who has already influenced the team so deeply assume even more control one day.
And think of how much it could help in the offseason if free agents were being pitched by Drake? We can think of one player who might want to team up with the rapper and unleash “Sicko Mode” on the NBA.
