You may look at a professional eating competition and wonder to yourself “what in the world does this have to do with sports?” Well hey, if sports are about testing the limits of the human body, then these professional consumers are peak athleticism.
The most iconic consumption event to happen annually is undoubtedly the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. This year, legendary eater Joey Chesnut was once again crowned champion after consuming a world record 76 hot dogs in just 10 minutes.
While the spotlight is always bright on Mr. Chesnut, a new star emerged as well. A star you may already know about.
Eric “Badlands” Booker has made himself an internet star simply by chugging ridiculous amounts of liquid in a small amount of time. Badlands took those talents and used them to become champion of the inaugural Nathan’s Famous chugging contest.
