We all knew it was coming, and it makes total sense. The American city essentially sitting on the border of Canada and the U.S. would make for a fantastic hockey city, and it also would even out the NHL at 32 teams if it were the only team to join the league. While some argue that cities such as Quebec City or Halifax deserve to have their thirsts for a franchise quenched, it is tough to argue that Seattle – a city that has proved to be a great city for sports teams – would be a bad idea for the NHL.
With the application officially in, the hockey world once again reacts to the idea of an NHL team in Seattle. The majority of the reaction came from people suggesting an array of names they believe would best suit the potential franchise.
