To say that things haven’t gone great for the Buffalo Bills over the last little while is, well, an understatement. It hardly qualifies as groundbreaking, new information either.
But there are just so many ways to illustrate how mind-bendingly bad they’ve been, and the Bills’ Billsness just never ceases to amaze. After Peterman’s pick six in the second quarter, ESPN’s Mike Rodak shared yet another bad Bills number.
The stat is just a touch out of date now, although the takeaway hardly changes. Later on in the fourth quarter, the Bills were able to mount a touchdown drive capped by Nathan Peterman’s QB sneak from Chicago’s 1-yard line, marking their first TD since Week 6. After a failed two-point conversion, it trimmed the Bears’ lead to... 34-9. (The Bills would lose 41-9 to fall to 2-7 on the season.) So, credit where credit is due, but the Bills are still the Bills.
This Sunday aside, the Bills have usually at least seen solid showings from their defense this season, in the total absence of any from their offense. Things are just not going well for this team — the most successful quarterback in Buffalo since 2001 has been Tom Brady playing against the Bills — but maybe Bills fans can find a silver lining in Brady's brief foray into run-blocking, ended rather abruptly by Lorenzo Alexander.
