There are always going to be tweets and captions that age poorly and the Washington Capitals ended up with one of those on Wednesday night. Ahead of the series, the Caps sent out a Game of Thrones themed tweet about them defending what’s theirs.
As we all know by now, the Capitals blew two different two-goal leads and eventually fell short in double overtime in Game 7 as the Hurricanes sent the defending champions home early.
Following the win, the Hurricanes’ social team circled back around to the pre-series tweet and responded with a Game of Thrones related tweet of their own.
The Capitals didn’t seem to enjoy the shot from the Hurricanes and let them know it.
It seems like the Hurricanes were just trying to have some fun of their own and the Capitals weren’t having it from the bunch of jerks.
