Kobe Bryant was selected 13th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1996 NBA Draft, but he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers shortly after the draft.
On Tuesday night, the Hornets played their first game since Kobe’s passing and the players and the coaching staff did something special in honour of the 5-time NBA champion.
All of the players wore arm sleeves with Kobe’s No. 8 and No. 24 stitched on them, while all the coaches wore Kobe’s on the sideline.
The Hornets and the Knicks also started the game with a 24-second and an 8-second violation.
