Chara and Martin dropped the gloves.

Again!

The New York Islanders destroyed the Washington Capitals 8-4 on Thursday night. With eight seconds to go at the end of the third, the Islanders decided to run out the clock. This is where it all began.

Chara and Matt were chatting at center ice as the final buzzer went. Then next thing you know the two team leaders were finally going at it.

Can we all just applaud Martin for even attempting to take on the six-foot-nine monster? Also props to both players for being respectful at the end of the game by tapping each other on the shoulder in congratulations.

On the other hand, is it just us or was it a little awkward? Not the fight NHL fan’s needed to see but at least it was something!
