If you're looking to improve on your hockey history, or give broadcasting a try for the first time, then you're in luck! Ladies and gentlemen, the Hockey Hall of Fame is coming BACK!

Lanny MacDonald, Chairman of the Hockey Hall of Fame and former Calgary Flames captain announced on Friday that the Hall will be open for business again starting Wednesday, July 15 for the first time since closing its doors on March 14th.

“We are fortunate that all of our staff are healthy and Ontarians have followed the governmental guidelines and principals, which will allow the Hockey Hall of Fame to officially re-open on July 15th,” McDonald said.  “The Hall’s top priority is the health and safety of our guests and staff. To that end, we have worked on stringent protocols that adhere to the Province of Ontario’s stage 2 re-opening guidelines.” 

 

According to a press release issued by the HHOF, all guests are required to wear a mask when entering Brookfield Place and the Hall of Fame. Social distancing will be enforced, and stylish pens will be given out to use on touch screens. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building, and all front-line staff will wear face shields and gloves.

The popular "9 & 99" Howe and Gretzky and "The Changing Face of Hockey: Diversity in our Game" exhibits will both be extended until December 31st, 2020. guests will have access to most areas of the building, however, due to the Government of Ontario's Stage 2 re-opening guidelines, they will not be allowed to touch the Stanley Cup of access some of the interactive exhibits until further notice.

To kick-off the re-opening, Phillip Pritchard, the Hall of Fame's Vice-President, Resource Centre and Curator, and 'Keeper of the Cup' will be in attendance on the 15th to take pictures alongside Lord Stanley's mug. So yes, attendance for this is obviously a no-brainer!

 

We've all missed hockey, so what better way to fill the void than with a trip to the Hall? It really is one of the greatest places on earth.
