The San Jose Sharks are hosting the Dallas Stars at SAP Center tonight and looking to avenge themselves after suffering a devastating loss in their last meeting. On New Year’s Eve, the Stars pounded the Sharks 6-0 in a convincing home win. Radek Faksa led the way with three assists while Ben Bishop posted a 26 save shutout.

Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer was asked about the teams’ last encounter and admitted that he “forgot” about the dreadful loss. It seems as though the bench boss may have had one too many sodas to bring in the new year… or maybe he was just trying to avoid speaking about the defeat.

Guess that’s one way to shake off an ugly loss?

DoBoer’s team was more prepared for tonight’s contest, as they managed to chase Bishop out of the crease early with four goals in the first period. As bizarre of a process it was, it’s good that he was at least able to move on from the previous loss and leave it in the past. Even if it was in an unconventional way.

Things aren’t looking good for the Stars tonight, so perhaps head coach Ken Hitchcock will dive into a few beverages after the game if things continue to go wrong for his team.
