Hayley Wickenheiser is officially in the NHL and she couldn’t be happier about it.

Earlier today, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced their hiring of the 4 x gold medalist, making her one of the few females in the league with a front office role. After the news became public, Wickenheiser summed up her feelings with the perfect tweet.

The 40-year-old wasn’t the only one to express her joy about the move. Leafs forward Zach Hyman made his feelings clear, insisting that Wickenheiser is “over-qualified” for the job.

After the announcement, Wickenheiser touched on the opportunity at hand.

Six Olympics later and the champ is still making headlines in the sport she loves. Time will tell how she will help the organization going forward.
