Thursday’s “Field of Dreams” game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox is coming up on Thursday, and there are a number of reasons to be excited. It’s a game that is sure to be chocked full of novelty, including these sweet Field of Dreams inspired jerseys, but one thing we are not at all sure how to feel about is Guy Fieri’s latest invention…
The Apple Pie Hot Dog.
The ballpark snack is, if nothing else, unapologetically American. It’s almost as if Fieri took a poll on what the two most American foods are, and then put it together and stuck a tiny American flag in it. Just because both items are extremely American doesn’t necessarily mean they go together, of course…
- Pie crust
- Bacon Jam
- Brown sugar/Honey/Apple vinegar
- Pie filling
- Hot dog
- Sugar/Pie spice
- Sauce: 50/50 mustard and pie filling
That is… interesting.
Our knee jerk reaction is to dismiss it as disgusting, but we also can’t help but feel a little hungry watching the video. Either way, we would definitely be experimenting with an Apple Pie Hot Dog if we were heading to Iowa for the big game.
