You never know what type of animal you’re going to encounter on a golf course these days. We’ve seen massive snakes, a 15-foot alligator, and even kangaroos invade golf courses in recent years and now you can add bears to that list.
This past weekend, Alaska native Trevor Stefan captured something out of the ordinary on camera at the Moose Run Golf Course in Anchorage as he spotted a group of black bear cubs on the green on one of the holes. Rather than passing right through, the bears stopped at the hole and started to play around with the flag pole before eventually running off with the actual flag.
According to Golfweek, Stefan currently lives out of state but returned back home for his late grandfather’s memorial service. While most people just see a few cute bears playing around on the golf course, Stefan’s mother, Alissa, weighed in on the video with this Facebook message to the Anchorage Daily News.
“As sad as this all is, it was such a blessing and a wonderful experience with the bears yesterday. My dad was a true outdoorsman and we knew he was watching down on Trevor (Saturday).”
The bears were first spotted on the first hole and then were spotted again on the seventh hole, where the video was filmed.
