Rob Gronkowski made his debut as a football analyst for Fox on Thursday night and he did not disappoint.

At all.

He wasn’t calling the shots like Tony Romo, but he did drop some lines that only Gronk himself could possibly think of. Like this one that you’re about to see involving Julian Edelman.

So apparently he calls himself the squirrel, and the retired tight end explained why.

Um… come again?!?!

Think we can all agree that football needs Gronk, the question has just become whether it’ll be from a broadcasting studio or on the field going forward. Patriots owner Robert Kraft hinted at a potential Gronk return and the 30-year-old didn’t exactly turn down the idea either.

It would take some time for Gronk to get caught up to speed, but he doesn’t look far off judging by his recent Instagram posts. The Patriots are 6-0 this year and have a huge hole at tight end, so it wouldn’t exactly be a huge surprise to see #87 back on the field at some point.

But for now… we’re thoroughly enjoying him as an analyst.

6 trophies. 6 abs. 1 dent.
