Lehigh Valley Phantoms mascot Melvin may not have known what he was getting himself into when he went to hang out with Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty for the day. The Phantoms are Philly’s AHL affiliate, so we’re sure Melvin had some idea, but no matter how prepared you are, you’re never fully prepared for Gritty.
The two seemed to have a lot of fun. Somewhere along the way, the two colourful creatures decided to hit the curbside somewhere in Philly, attempting to get cars to honk for them. If a car did indeed honk, Gritty and Melvin were unable to contain their excitement.
If Gritty tells you to honk, you better put your hand in the middle of that steering wheel and press down hard. Seriously though, can you imagine driving along and then a random Gritty appears gesturing for you to honk?
Their day didn’t end there, though. The pair also decided to hit up the zoo, where they luckily were not incarcerated.
We don’t know who won, but they apparently found themselves in a staring contest as well.
They even visited a mural made for Gritty, and *tried* to snap some photos.
Forget Keeping Up with the Kardashians, we want a full-length version of Keeping Up with the Philadelphia-Flyers-Affiliated-Mascots.
Doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as nicely.
