The moment Gritty was introduced to the sports world we knew that the Philadelphia Flyers mascot wasn’t going to have much of a filter. From hilarious photoshoots to in-game gags, the youngest mascot in the NHL is all about having a good time.
On Tuesday night, the Philadelphia Flyers hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins, and for the first time in the history of the Battle of Pennsylvania we saw fans from both teams unite thanks to Gritty.
Mascots are supposed to keep fans entertained and focused on the game, so when Gritty got his chance to hype up the fans, he did just that and added his own touch to it all.
Usually mascots will hit a drum as a way to encourage fans to get a little louder and rowdier, only this time Gritty switched up the drum for a garbage bin marked with Houston Astros stickers.
It doesn’t matter who you’re a fan of, that’s great stuff right there by the Flyers’ mascot.
