Gritty's only been in the NHL for one season, but what a season it was. The Flyers' new mascot transcended the hockey world and became one of the most well-known mascots on the planet thanks to a unique look, as well as some incredible on and off ice antics.
Simply put, Gritty is an absolute superstar and everyone loves the Scott Hartnell lookalike, so much so that the mascot is surprising young fans, specifically this 7-year-old named Caiden O'Rourke who got a new custom Gritty prosthetic leg.
That look on Caiden's face is why we love sports today. Gritty also gifted Caiden with a custom Flyers jersey, which he clearly loved.
If moments like this don't make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside, then nothing will.
