Gritty became a hit throughout the hockey community almost immediately after he was introduced to the world leading up to the 2018-19 NHL regular season.
Earlier this week the Philadelphia Flyers’ mascot made his NHL regular season debut when the Flyers hosted the San Jose Sharks and on Friday night he made another debut as he was introduced at the Lehigh Valley Phantoms game in an incredible way.
The Phantoms’ mascot, MeLVin, came cruising onto the ice ahead of the game on a Zamboni while Gritty sat on the front of the ice resurfacer and waved to all the fans while Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ blasted throughout the arena speakers.
It’s not as good as Gritty’s NHL entrance, but it’s still fantastic.
