Tuesday night, the Flyers played their home opener against the Sharks and it wasn't just the home opener for the team.
The Flyers' new mascot Gritty was unveiled to the world during the preseason and while Gritty was able to get used to being an NHL mascot before the home opener, its official debut was Tuesday night.
Usually mascots don't get to make a more incredible entrance than the players, but this is no ordinary mascot. This is Gritty and everything Gritty does is noteworthy, including dropping in from the roof to Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball."
Is that not one of the best mascot entrances you've ever seen?
This entrance alone has Gritty in pole position to be number one in our first edition of Mascot Power Rankings this season, which come out Friday.
