A Grey Cup victory is always going to be sweet, but it may be a little extra sweet for the Calgary Stampeders.

Heading into the 106th Grey Cup, one of the biggest narratives was that the Calgary Stampeders were entering their third consecutive Grey Cup. Pretty impressive, but the only issue is they lost both their previous attempts. That includes a Grey Cup 104 loss to the same team they were playing on Sunday.

Now it’s in the books, and the Stamps got that monkey off their back. They’re back on top, and starting quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell could not be happier.

Bo Levi Mitchell won Grey Cup MVP just days after winning the league’s Most Outstanding Player honours in what could not have been a more perfect season for the pivot.

And is there a more likeable guy in the league?
