The 2021-22 NBA season is proving to be one like no other. Last year’s abbreviated Disney World season was also heavily impacted by the global pandemic, but this year the league is trying to complete a full season while traveling between cities.

It’s proven to be difficult, with lots of players frequently entering into the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, and a number of games being postponed as well. Still, the NBA pushes on by all means necessary.

As a result, the league has set a new record for highest number of players to suit up and play in an NBA game. Appropriately, it was journeyman Greg Monroe – a symbol of fringe-player perseverance over the last few years – who pushed the league over the threshold.

Not necessarily a record the NBA was hoping to break this year, particularly before the end of 2021, but a record nonetheless.

As a further indication as to how nuts this year has been, just watch Monroe’s postgame presser when he tries to figure out who all his teammates are.

Like we said, the 2021-22 NBA season is like no other we’ve seen before.
