Should the Ottawa Senators entertain the idea of going back to the black and white jerseys they wore in their inaugural season?

Perhaps graphic designer Jeff Tasca could convince you if you're on the fence.

We've featured Jeff's concept jerseys numerous times, and his newest project is centred around redesigning the Sens jerseys with a blast from the past.

From Jeff's Instagram, which we encourage you to follow so you can stay up to date with his awesome work.

"Since the Sens are playing the leafs tonight thought I would get this game be done. I Finally got around to doing another uniform concept. Hoping to do some a little more frequently going forward. One I’ve wanted to do for a while is the Ottawa Senators because I really don’t like what they wear now other than their alternate jersey. I went back to their inaugural 1992 jersey look and drew inspiration from that. Along with their jersey from way back in 1917. I wanted to throw a little gold back in there, as it was something unique to the Senators and it also calls back to 1922-23 when they added gold to their colour scheme. Thought I would throw a little history into their whole set. What do you think?"

The Senators are undergoing a rebuild, and while they want to turn over a new leaf, getting a revamped set of uniforms would be a complimentary addition once the team gets good again, or if they're able to build a new arena in Ottawa's downtown core.

Let's face it when jerseys are redesigned, they're a great way for teams to generate some extra revenue. We have a feeling those dark black jerseys would have no problem flying off the shelves if they were ever to come to fruition.
