If you have been in the search for some mind-blowing content, then look no further.

Do you know the six degrees of separation? Well it’s sort of like that, but just surrounding the history of the NHL and WHA from 1917 to current day and let us warn you, this content is insane!

TSN’s own Gord Miller shared the following tweet in regards to the graphic that was showcased during the broadcast Wednesday evening.

Starting off with Cy Denneny, he played 12 seasons within the NHL, spending the majority of his time with the Ottawa Senators before playing his final season with the Boston Bruins.

Next, we have Dit Clapper, who played against Denneny within his 20 seasons within the NHL and played his entire career with the Bruins.

Following Clapper, we have a guy whose name may ring a bell. Gordie Howe, ever heard of him? The two played against one another in both the NHL and WHA, with Howe beginning his career with the Red Wings in 1946 up until 1971. He then joined the Houston Aeros and New England Whalers of the WHA, before ending his career with the Whalers in 1980 following the NHL/WHA merger that brought him to Hartford, Connecticut.

If you know Gordie Howe, then, of course, you know his biggest fan growing up who would soon go on to break his records.

Starting his career with the Indianapolis Pacers, Wayne Gretzky spent just two years in the WHA as the Edmonton Oilers merged in 1979. His 20 seasons were spent with the Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers up until his retirement in 1999.

Now last, but definitely not least, we have the one and only Joe Thornton.

Beginning his career in 1997, Thornton was drafted first overall by the Boston Bruins with whom he stayed for eight years before spending 15 years with the San Jose Sharks and currently with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The fact that just five players are able to connect and pretty much sum up the history of the WHA and NHL to current day is crazy!

We wonder who will end up as the next generation within this thread!
