Bryson DeChambeau has injected a kind of energy into the PGA Tour that we haven’t really seen since Tiger Woods. The California-native has revolutionized his game, prioritizing raw power in a way other golfers simply can’t match.
In 2020, DeChambeau entered the PGA Tour season with a completely different look. He’d managed to add 40 pounds of muscle, and that reflected very obviously in his game. Over the past year, DeChambeau has been must-watch golf through a combination his power and his polarizing personality.
Fans watching DeChambeau tee off on fourth hole at THE PLAYERS Championship were likely hoping to see him smash another ball to the moon. Unfortunately for those fans, they instead witnessed the very opposite. DeChambeau topped his tee shot, resulting in a shockingly short 96-yard first.
DeChambeau has established himself as somewhat of a villain on the Tour, so it didn’t take long for Twitter to chime in on the flubbed tee shot.
