Athletes spend a lot of time with their teammates during the regular season so they’re always thinking of new ways to have some fun and keep things light.

One way the players like to stay loose off the ice throughout the season is by taking part in some friendly pranks at their teammates’ expense. From going undercover as a security guard to hiding out in a hotel room with a freaky clown mask, we’ve seen just about everything. At least that’s what we thought.

On Monday, the Vegas Golden Knights got the week started by pranking defenceman Nate Schmidt by taping a rather unusual and inappropriate object on top of his helmet.

Schmidt took the ice for practice unaware of what his teammates had placed on his helmet, but he seemed to get a good chuckle with the rest of the guys after he figured out what they did.

The 26-year-old will most likely give his equipment a once over the next time he puts it on.

It clearly didn’t take the Golden Knights very long to mesh as a team, especially since they own a 16-9-1 record through their first 26 games.
