This next video is one of the most savage plays you'll ever watch in beer league hockey.
Whenever there's a brawl of any sorts in hockey, nobody ever thinks about what to do with their stick, unless they're using it as a weapon, or aren't really engaged. Most of the time, sticks are disregarded and picked up later on after the tensions are settled.
Goaltenders watching a dust-up will often just stare in amusement, fire out a few chirps and maybe grab a drink of water.
But this beer leaguer in Kelowna, B.C. decided to take it up a notch by picking up the stick of an opponent who was mixing it up with his teammate. No, he didn't snap and join in on the fight, he literally snapped his stick.
You shouldn't fire in beer league, but Mr. Goalie, are you going to pay for that? At least he was kind enough to pull it back out of the netting for him, right?
You can understand the player's frustrations of going after the netminder, because we all know hockey gear -- and more specifically, sticks -- aren't cheap.
Did he have another stick to use, or was he already getting the boot from the game anyways? Did the goalie get an unsportsmanlike-penalty? Does he work at a hockey store and knows this player shops there? Why were they even fighting in the first place?
Goalies, man.
