Ever since Odell Beckham Jr. made what is probably the greatest catch of all time, every catch since has been compared to that one – this might be the closest yet.
Terry Godwin, a receiver playing for the Georgia Bulldogs, went into the corner of the endzone to make a catch that – like Beckham – the announcers initially thought was incomplete. He reaches back in a similar position to what Beckham pulled off before making a quick bobble and clutching the ball to his chest.
If not for the bobble, this probably would have been on OBJ’s level, but the Giants receiver still reigns supreme.
What might be most similar to OBJ’s catch is actually the photographs of the catch. There were several angles of the moment that he reached back and they are pretty incredible.
