Georges St-Pierre has hung up his gloves, but the UFC legend is still open to a return if he can get his fight against currently undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov.
That would be quite a clash of the titans, and as Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, tells TMZ Sports, it would be a ‘dream fight’ for both fighters — they both want to make this happen. The hurdle, however, is agreeing on a weight class.
“Khabib’s dream fight is Georges St-Pierre. Georges St-Pierre’s dream fight is Khabib. If the UFC and Georges can get a deal done, we’d be more than happy to do it ... I don’t think it’s about money. It’s about weight. The problem is about weight. What weight class do we fight at?”
When St-Pierre retired in February, he said he was thankful to go out on top, but he had also held out for a matchup with Khabib before making his decision. So, there has been interest on both sides for some time, but things just haven’t worked out for all parties, including the UFC, just yet.
This fight would certainly be able to pull in some ridiculous PPV numbers, and any fighting fan would love to see this matchup in the Octagon. If they can come to terms, then perhaps we might just get to see one more GSP fight after all.
