The Colorado Avalanche have an incredibly bright future that extends well past this successfully season they're currently enjoying thanks to a nucleus of young stars like Cale Makar.

The rookie on Colorado's blue line has been phenomenal this season and is in a tight race for the Calder Trophy.

Both Makar & Hughes deserve to win. Whoever plays better during this last stretch will win it but what's more impressive than a Calder is the fact that there will be two rookie d-men that have surpassed 50+ points in the same season. 2 absolute studs I've enjoyed watching battle.

It's crazy to think that Makar is going to get even better than he is right now because he's already so good that everyone has taken notice. If he wins a Norris in the next three years, you can bet Landeskog will be sharing this clip as a reminder of his prediction.
