Frederik Andersen joined the Carolina Hurricanes on a two-year deal this past offseason after spending the past five season with the Toronto Maple Leafs and he’s off to a record-setting start.
On Saturday night, Andersen turned aside 27 of 28 shots in a 5-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, making him the first goalie in Hurricanes/Whalers franchise history to start his tenure with 4-game winning streak.
Andersen has only allowed seven goals through four games and owns a 1.75 goals against average and a .944 save percentage, and he’s tied with Cam Talbot, Sergei Bobrovsky and Jordan Binnington for the league-lead in wins.
