Following his 54-point franchise breaking record, VanVleet received a call from none other than DeMar DeRozan, who he had passed at 52 points on the Raptors all-time leaderboard.
How cool is that? Not only have the two stayed in touch, but they’ve had multiple conversations about VanVleet potentially passing DeRozan on the Raptors all-time board...well to which DeMar was able to get under Fred's skin a little and help encourage him.
Honestly, we’re happy VanVleet didn’t need to see another day of not passing DeRozan to not get cussed out!
And thank goodness VanVleet decided to go that extra mile tonight and put that baby into overdrive because Raptors fans everywhere are ecstatic with his latest success.
