It didn’t take Francisco Lindor very long to make his mark in Major League Baseball as he’s evolved into one of the game’s best shortstops in two and a half seasons and he’s looking to build off his career year this season.
The Cleveland Indians and the Minnesota Twins opened up a two-game series in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Tuesday night, and the Caguas, Puerto Rico native did not let his hometown fans down. Facing a full count in the top of the 5th inning, the 21-year-old smoked his second home run of the season and you would think he just won the World Series thanks to the massive ovation the hometown fans gave him.
An incredible moment for Lindor and Puerto Rico and there wasn’t a single person left in their seats once the ball cruised over the wall in the outfield.
Lindor’s drove in two runs with his second dinger of the year, which included the game-winning run as the Indians topped the Twins 6-1.
