It’s easy to let your emotions get the best of you when you’re playing a physical sport like hockey, especially if you’ve been knocked around a few times or get hit with a cheap shot.
During Wednesday’s KHL game between Sibir and Metallurg Mg, former Sharks and Canucks prospect Nikolay Goldobin was taken out against the boards by Nikita Yefremov and retaliated by kicking Yefremov.
Goldobin’s kick did not go unnoticed and he was handed a 5-minute penalty for kicking and a 20-minute game misconduct penalty.
The knocking on the helmet from the coach says it all.
