Due to the controversial blown call in the NFC Championship game between the Saints and Rams last season, coaches now have the ability to challenge offensive and defensive pass interference penalties, along with non-calls.
The rule was put in place in order to prevent what happened to the Saints from happening again and coaches have been taking advantage of the ability to challenge said penalties so far this preseason. Thursday night, however, there was some uproar over this call.
Thankfully because of the new rule, Washington had the chance to challenge the call....wait, the ruling on the field was upheld?! What is pass interference anymore because we have no idea and Al Riveron's explanation didn't seem to clear anything up. Let's just hope everyone's using the preseason to get into regular season form so this doesn't become a bigger deal if it happens in a much bigger moment.(H/T: NFL/Reddit)
