While a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor seems unlikely at this point, their war of words online keep the door open ever so slightly for a potential ‘Round 2.’

UFC style.

The two combatants were at it again on Sunday morning, with Mayweather taking the first shot at McGregor with a photoshopped picture of himself throwing an elbow to the face of a very bloodied McGregor.

A few hours later, the Irishman countered with a real picture of himself throwing a bow to the head of Nate Diaz.

Last week, Mayweather added fuel to the rumor fill when he showed video of himself walking into a octagon.

These two definitely know how to build up the hype, even if it still remains a long shot.

In an interview with FightHype.com, boxing trainer Robert Garcia says he’s heard that the UFC “has made him (Mayweather) a huge offer.”

Garcia went on to say that he thinks Mayweather has been stealthy training n his MMA skills for a few years now.

McGregor lasted 11 round with Mayweather back in August before the fight way stopped, with Mayweather coming out on top via a TKO. While Mayweather had a significant advantage of years of experience in a boxing ring, he’d be in over his head if he were to ever officially enter the octagon with McGregor.

The back-and-forth jabs on social media is only intensifying, and now they've graduated to elbows. Just wait until Floyd starts trying to throw a kick.
