If you’ve ever seen Farhan Lalji at B.C. Place Stadium it was most likely because he was working. However, if you were there this past weekend you saw him for an entirely different reason.

When the TSN broadcaster isn’t busy with work or enjoying time with his family, he spends his time as the head coach of the New Westminster Hyacks, a high school football club located New Westminster, BC. This past weekend, Lalji’s team took on the defending Subway Bowl Trip-A provincial football champion Terry Fox Ravens in the championship and ended up coming out on top thanks to a thrilling last-second touchdown and two-point conversion.

Must See: Hyacks win an absolute thriller

After scoring a touchdown in the final seconds of the game to bring them within one point, Lalji decided to have his team go for the two-point conversion instead of the extra point and it paid off in a big way as they converted the two-point conversion in the dying seconds of the game to clinch their first-ever provincial crown.

The Ravens once held a 14-0 lead but the Hyacks managed to fight back in a very impressive way and ended up walking away with the championship because of it.
