Today, in a league where superstars forcing and blocking trades is the norm, and the best players in the league often end up pooling in larger markets to create notorious super teams, Giannis Antetokounmpo proved he was different.

Antetokounmpo agreed to a supermax deal with the Milwaukee Bucks that stands as the richest contract in NBA history, and defied rumours that he’d be willing to sign elsewhere.

While many people weren’t expecting Giannis to remain in Milwaukee, others aren’t nearly as shocked. Giannis has always embraced the Bucks and their fan base, and if you check out this tweet that some are pointing to from 2017, we shouldn’t be surprised at all that Giannis is staying put in Milwaukee.
