All week long, we saw headlines about how Josh Allen was going to dominate his matchup on Sunday. Those headlines proved to be ABSOLUTELY true, but the stories themselves may have been a little further off with the analysis.
After all, there were two Josh Allens in Sunday’s game between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While the stories were unanimously determining that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen would absolutely carve up the Jacksonville Jaguars – who many consider to be the worst team in the NFL – that’s not how it played out. Despite the Bills going into Week 9 with the #1 scoring offence, the Jags were somehow able to hold them to a paltry 6 points.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Josh Allen (yes, he’s also named Josh Allen) had himself A DAY!
Jags’ Allen led his team in tackles with 8, one of which was a sack. He also managed to intercept his name compatriot.
On top of all that, Josh Allen also recovered a fumble from… you guessed it… Josh Allen!
Sack, interception, fumble recovery. That is the golden triangle of a defender.
As you may expect, the internet had a ton of fun with this.
