One of the least dirty players in the NHL lost his cool.
It happens.
Especially when you’re Connor McDavid and your team loses 4-0 to the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs were already up 3-0 by the end of the first period when McDavid completely dropped Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi at centre ice.
Only issue? It wasn’t the cleanest hit. It appeared to be a pretty nasty high elbow to the head but he was only sent to the box with a minor roughing penalty for two minutes.
Regardless if he was frustrated or not, fans don't believe it was shoulder to shoulder and are calling it a clear hit to the head. Some NHL fans are finding it hard to defend him and are calling for a suspension.
This could be the first time that the NHL’s star is suspended! Due to the amount of controversy, the play is going to be reviewed by the NHL player safety department.
Is this hit suspension worthy?
