The Ezekiel Elliott contract saga is FINALLY COMPLETE! If you listen close enough, you can hear a collective sigh of relief from Dallas Cowboy fans and Zeke fantasy owners alike.

Since being drafted in 2016 with the 4th overall pick, Elliott has made himself a corner piece of the Dallas Cowboys. The two-time rushing title winner has also emerged as one of the most elite running backs in the NFL, mixing speed, agility, and unbelievable strength into one exceptional football player.

If you look at his contract, however, he is officially the most elite.

Zeke has been in the headlines all offseason long as a holdout threat. Many thought that he may take a similar route as Le’Veon Bell did last year, refusing to report to the team until a new contract was worked out. Melvin Gordon of the Los Angeles Chargers is currently on a similar path.

Luckily for Zeke, a contract was worked out – and it’s a monster contract. Now the highest-paid running back in the NFL, Zeke is all set to earn $90 million over the next six years ($50 million guaranteed), surpassing Todd Gurley’s contract.

Speaking with ESPN’s Mike Greenberg on Get Up, Zeke’s dad couldn’t contain his emotion when talking about his son’s accomplishment. The proud father was nearly brought to tears explaining the feeling of being a dad during this incredible time.

No matter whether you think Zeke’s contract is too big, or you believe that holding out is “greedy” by nature, it’s hard not to feel a little lump in your throat as Zeke’s dad explains his emotions.
