Some of the biggest news to come out of the NFL offseason so far is that one of the best to ever play tight end is hanging up his cleats. That is none other than Rob Gronkowski.
In an emotional Instagram post, Gronk announced that he had officially finished his NFL career following his New England Patriots Super Bowl Championship. The longtime force on the Patriots offence had quite a career full of huge plays, championships, and a whole lot of fun.
So now that he’s retired and into a new stage of life, do you think he’s grown up and matured a bit? Maybe… maybe not.
The hulking tight end has always been known for his shenanigans and juvenile sense of humour. That has apparently carried on into retirement, as he is now responsible for denting one of football’s most prized possessions – the Lombardi Trophy.
He did so while using it as a baseball bat. It’s all shown hear in the most dramatic video imaginable.
It’s not like it fell off a table. He didn’t get in a car accident. He willingly decided to use it as a baseball bat.
Ah well, gives the ol’ trophy character. At least there’s a new one each year!
