Evgeny Kuznetsov just scored one of the biggest goals in Washington Capitals history and he celebrated in a predictable and still totally bizarre way.
It’s predictable because it’s not the first time that Kuznetsov has done this celebration. He raises ones leg and flaps his arms like a bird and he did it last year in the playoffs and in the World Cup of Hockey. Now, he has brought it back for an overtime winner in Game 6.
As we said, this isn’t the first time Kuznetsov has done this celebration and he’s actually explained why he does it in the past. It’s a celebration that he’s borrowed from the EA Sports FIFA games. It’s one of those celebrations that is often used by players in the game because of how ridiculous it is and that it would never be seen in real life. Wrong.
Kuznetsov has adopted it as his celebration for any big goal.
However many times he does it, it doesn’t really seem to get less weird. It seems like a pretty counterintuitive movement to think of when you first score, but he’s got it down pat. One things for sure, that celebration will forever be associated with him, especially now that he was able to use it in such a big moment.
