The best thing about the Penguins always going so deep in the playoffs is that Evgeni Malkin always gets a little extra screen time.
Malkin is one of the best interviews in the league because he always seems to speak his mind and if he’s in a good mood, what’s on his mind is usually pretty funny. Last night the Penguins were feeling good after tying the series against Washington and when asked about his game-winning goal, Malkin was totally honest.
For Malkin, he expects more impressive goals.
Perhaps that’s why he didn’t really care to watch the replay.
His goal was reviewed because they weren’t sure if it had actually crossed the line. While that was going on, Crosby told Malkin that it was going to be a good goal before they had announced it, so he didn’t even bother watching it.
