It can be a hockey’s player’s worst nightmare.
You get to the airport, check your bags and sticks in, and anxiously await to hit the ice in your destination. The only problem is that when you show up, your sticks are nowhere to be found.
Tyler Seguin experienced the nightmare while travelling through Toronto. When he touched down and realized he didn’t have his sticks, Seguin typed out his anger in a few short characters on Twitter.
With an annual cap-hit at US $5.7 million per Cap Friendly, Seguin wouldn’t have had any issues buying a new twig or two (if worse came to worse). Regardless, it’s something that no player enjoys going through. After the ordeal, Air Canada responded with an apologetic tweet of their own and insisted they would investigate the matter.
It’s hard to get too mad at Air Canada. Thousands of pieces of luggage are moved through airports daily and will invetibly get lossed on a daily basis. It just unfortunate that it’s happened numerous times to one of the NHL’s best goal-scorers (who also happens to have 162K followers on Twitter).
Hopefully the two sides were able to work things out.
