Elvis Merzlikins and his wife Aleksandra just welcomed in their baby boy, Knox Matiss Merzlikins. Congratulations to Elvis and Aleksandra!
The naming of their son is a tribute to Elvis Merzlikins' friend and teammate, Matiss Kivlenieks, who passed away in a tragic fireworks accident in July. During the memorial for Matiss Kivlenieks, Elvis Merzlikins said that Matiss had saved his life, along with the lives of his wife and his unborn son. He followed that by saying that his son’s second name would be Matiss.
Elvis and Aleksandra Merzlikins did just that and named their son Knox Matiss Merzlikins.
Knox Matiss Merzlikins might have some goaltending chops of his own as he’s already rocking all the Columbus Blue Jackets swag he can muster.
