Elias Pettersson has been one of the most highly anticipated prospects to arrive in the NHL since Matthews and Laine, and he lived up to the hype last night.
In his first NHL game, Pettersson already looks like the best player on his team scoring his first NHL goal (On an absolute snipe) and notching his first NHL assist. That doesn’t mean his teammates are going to treat him any differently though, because he still got the rookie treatment before his first game.
It’s a lonely skate and while many people were predicting that this would be a perfect metaphor for this season, the Canucks looked very strong against the Flames. All of their young talent was at their best, getting goals from five different players under 25 years old.
Canucks fans are feeling pretty optimistic about how fun this season will be to watch.
