Odell Beckham Jr.’s tenure with the New York Giants is long gone but still, the 26-year-old is taking shots at his former club.

And this time around, his former quarterback wasn't having any of it.

OBJ was sent packing to Cleveland in exchange for first and third round picks in the 2019 draft, along with Jabrill Peppers On May 12th, less than one year after agreeing to a five-year, $90 million contract. There’s no denying the LSU product’s skill (a ridiculous 5,476 yards in just 59 games) but his mouth often got him in hot water within the organization; particularly while addressing the play of quarterback Eli Manning. The two-time Super Bowl MVP has typically refrained from firing back but couldn’t help himself from laughing off OBJ’s most recent comments.

Cleveland’s new star explained to GQ how he felt “disrespected” and how he felt like he “was the main reason at keeping that brand alive.” He then went as far as implying he was the only reason the team was still getting primetime games, which was just too much for Manning to handle. He made sure to remind Beckham Jr. that the team won a few games before he arrived to the Big Apple.

Eli responded to OBJ’s comments about prime-time games.

Who knew Eli had it in him?!

Since entering the league in 2014, OBJ has played in just one playoff game (a loss in 2016) but a change in scenery could change his luck. The Browns haven’t been to the postseason since 2002, but made a point of improving its roster with the acquisitions of OBJ and pass-rusher Olivier Vernon. The Browns are not scheduled to play the Giants in the 2019 regular season.

Time will tell how Beckham Jr. fares with sophomore quarterback Baker Mayfield, but hopefully this was a friendly reminder that the Giants were a pretty dominant team not long before his arrival.
