The Winnipeg Jets completely destroyed the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night as they cruised to a 6-1 victory to move into a tie for first place in the Central Division with the Nashville Predators.
Near the end of the second period, Avalanche rookie A.J. Greer exchanged a few shots with Blake Wheeler. After Greer continued to edge closer to the Jets’ captain, Dustin Byfuglien decided to step up and back his captain.
Considering Byfuglien was the third guy in he ended up receiving two minutes for an unsportsmanlike conduct, five minutes for fighting and a 10 minute misconduct for his role in the altercation.
Since the 32-year-old went on to spend a majority of the rest of the game in the box, he figured he might as well make himself comfortable in there and went into pure spectator mode.
It wasn’t just the music that got to him as he also cheered on the in-house entertainment throughout the game.
Byfuglien finished with two assists on the night as the Jets improved to 34-15-9 with the victory.
