The Denver Broncos have been a carousel of quarterbacks ever since the Jake Plummer days. Realistically, not even that far off from the John Elway days who is now the President of Football Operations and currently in charge of finding the team’s next franchise quarterback.

With names like Tim Tebow, Brock Osweiler, and Peyton Lynch all flaking out more unceremoniously than Elway had hoped, he was really hoping for a good game from the Broncos’ 2nd round pick Drew Lock.

He got one.

While Lock didn’t light up the field in the same way that Daniel Jones did early this year in his debut, the 184 yards and two touchdowns were serviceable enough to beat the Los Angeles Chargers. Overall, we’d consider that a pretty successful debut.

His first touchdown was also one of the highlights of the year. While the awe factor came more from Courtland Sutton’s catch, the throw was dropped in pretty perfectly as well. Directly after the highlight, you can see Drew’s proud parents, Andy and Laura, losing it in the audience.

It’s one thing to be smiling and clapping, but these two got way into it. Following the game, we were treated to an interview with the two Lock’s as well.

What a moment for the Lock family.
