On Sunday, the Toronto Maple Leafs didn't play, but GM Kyle Dubas still attended a hockey game and that unsurprisingly had the hockey world talking. Dubas was in New York to watch the Rangers take on the Flames and as soon as he was spotted at MSG, fans immediately were thinking trade.
It's more than a fair thought, but the alternate explanation for Dubas being at the game from TSN Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger seems to make much more sense.
Again, there could have been other motivations for Dubas being in New York and attending that game, but the connection to Nylander's meeting and subsequent reported meeting between the two seems like the main motivation.
As everyone knows, Nylander remains unsigned and he and the Leafs are trying to work towards a deal, but haven't been able to agree upon anything yet.
